Surgical Procedure

Today, my sweet husband had his ear cut open.
I don't know what the official name for it is, but he had a lot of broken/infected cartilage which caused his ear
to blow up like a balloon!
Luckily, we caught the infection somewhat on time before it had a chance to explode! :]

He is a tough guy.

MY tough guy.

It's a...

BOY!!!

Austin and I are proud to announce that we are having a cute baby boy! We couldn't be any more excited!
Our little man is already 10" long and weighs 12 ounces!

Upon beginning the ultrasound, we quickly learned that our baby was completely curled up in a little ball sleeping.
This was not what I had expected because some time before, I had gulped down a huge glass of orange juice, downed some fruit snacks, and pretty much ate a candy that was pure sugar.
I did all of this so the baby would be hyper and would move around for all to see!
Instead he was sound asleep, preventing any way of finding out his gender!
So what did I do? I went into the bathroom and did some jumping jacks, body twists, and some crazy dance moves to try to get him moving around!
It worked!
Just after that he spread his little legs and...voila! He was obviously a boy!
He worked so hard for us and we are both very proud of him!
It was a great adventure!

Austin and I are so happy!
We are also really excited to start preparing the boy clothes, nursery, blankets, etc.

What a happy day it will be when we are holding our newborn baby in our arms!
[I should have gotten a picture with my hubby too. We were just all caught up in the moment!]
[Plus, the doctor came in right after this.]

Perfection

My husband is my world.

I couldn't have found anyone more perfect for me... in every way.
[One example: He is currently giving me a foot massage.]

I love him♥

We are Super Excited!

Friday is the day.

The day we find out the gender of our baby!

We absolutely cannot wait!

We thought this day would never come!
When I made the appointment a couple of months ago, it seemed so far away.
Now we can say it is the day after tomorrow!!!

So much has changed since my last update about the baby:

♥I can feel this sweet little thing move so much! Every day at school, I will be sitting calmly in class and all that is occupying my mind is the constant movement in my belly! I love it more than words can express! This baby is going to be a wild one, I just know it!
♥I feel great!!! There is only a short period of time every morning when I don't feel very well. But I can quickly resolve it by laying down for a little while!
♥I get full super fast, but then get hungry again not even an hour later! This is because my stomach is being squished; causing less room for food to fit in. But since my digestive system works through the food fast, the hunger comes quickly once more!
♥I have a little belly bump! I have been waiting for this. With visual proof that I am pregnant, it all seems a little more real now! [I will have to post a picture of it soon.]
♥I have gotten into the habit of speed walking every day! It makes me feel so good!
♥We got our first bibs and socks for the baby! This is quite funny actually! My parents and little siblings went to Montreal, Canada for the past few weeks and came back with:

Aren't they adorable?!?!
The pink socks were made by my amazing Mamy! For a girl...
And the bibs were bought by my wonderful dad! For a boy...
[Well he says a girl can wear them too!]
My Mamy [mom's mom] said she would make more of these socks for our baby!
Getting these gifts made us so happy! We are very grateful.
We absolutely cannot wait for our little one! We hope these last few months fly by!

A Night Away With My Man!

Since it was Father's Day weekend, I surprised Austin with a night in Sedona!
He loves Sedona.

It began when Austin was at work on Friday and I was begging him to try and get off early.
[This is a usual occurrence, so he didn't think anything of it.]
To my liking, he was actually able to leave at 3:00 pm.
When he came home, the bags and cooler were all packed and waiting for him at the front door.
He was completely surprised!

I told him to get in the car because we were taking a trip!
Of course he wanted to know where, so when we were on the freeway I finally told him the secret.

He was ecstatic!!!

We arrived in Sedona a few hours later and as always, its beauty amazed us!

A few weeks prior, I reserved a night at The Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort.
It sure was gorgeous!
The rooms were more like condos that overlooked a beautiful golf course.

This was where we stayed!

And this was our amazing room[s]! We got so lucky!

Since this trip was especially for Austin, I let him choose all of our activities!
So after relaxing in the room for a bit, we headed out for dinner.

Austin picked a yummy place that he had been before called the Javelina Cantina.
The food sure was delicious!

After dinner we walked around Uptown Sedona for a little bit.
Then we decided to call it a night and headed back to the hotel early!

The next morning, Austin woke up to this:

Again, Austin got to pick all the day's activities!
Let's just say we had an eventful day eating out, walking around, watching movies, driving around, and just being together!

Some other fun things we saw!
-A yummy fudge shop.
-Mormon Hill!
-A green McDonald's sign.
-Awesome towels at the hotel.
-Fun 'Red Dirt' shirts.
-A beautiful club house for the golf course we were staying at! [My dad would love that place!]
-And much, much more!

We had the most amazing time ever!
A trip back to Sedona will hopefully be in the works again real soon!

Jesus Wants Me for a SunBEAM!

Since January of this year, I have been fortunate enough to teach the Sunbeam class at church.
[The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.]
I love it.
This is their first year in Primary and they are doing so well!

I absolutely love how each lesson covers the basics of the gospel.
For example:
I am a Child of God
Heavenly Father Has a Body
The Holy Ghost Helps Me
Families Can Be Together Forever
Heavenly Father and Jesus Love Me
I Can Pray to Heavenly Father
...
These are just some of the lesson titles from the past few months.
They have helped me so much!
I am able to look back at the basics of the gospel for myself and learn from them.
It makes me truly appreciate all that this gospel brings to my life!

Just some of my nine kiddos!

I am so grateful for my Sunbeams.
They continue to amaze me each and every week.
I know that this is the right calling for me at this time in my life!

A Much Needed Update :]

I have been a bad blogger.
[Everyone always says that, don't they?!]
But now that I have more time during the summer, I will be able to keep this blog updated on all the excitement that goes on in our lives!

So much has changed. It is crazy!

For Austin:
He switched is major.
The plan was to take the PCAT for pharmacy this summer.
Well... due to much thought and prayers, he is now going to major in computer science and business with a minor in Japanese.
Big change, huh?!
This means we will now stay here in Arizona to attend ASU.
No more moving out of state for pharmacy school!
This also means less time in school for my hard-working husband!

For me:
Unfortunately my work went out of business recently and I am currently unemployed.
We will see how everything goes.
As of now, I am starting a new job in July! It is one that I can do until I have our little one!
Speaking of our little cutie-pie, I will be having my next ultrasound a week from this Friday!!!
That is when we will find out the gender, so be sure to check for a post!

Both of us:
We are both currently attending school full-time this summer and are almost done with the first session!
We also have a couple of trips coming up soon, which include relaxation without homework!!!

Austin and I are really enjoying a much-needed lighter load of school and work.
We are trying to take as much of it in as we can!

Yay for an update! More to come soon!
[Promise.]
