Viva Las Vegas

We took a weekend trip to Nevada with my sister, Kristel, and her husband, Ken.

Departure: Thursday, January 6th at 6:00 pm.

We were fortunate enough to have stayed at Ken's aunt and uncle's house!

This is where Ryker had his first sink-bath experience.

On Friday morning, we went to a really yummy donut shop.

Then, we dropped the boys off here:

For those of you who don't know what CES is...

"The International Consumer Electronics Show is a major technology-related trade show held each January in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. Not open to the public, the Consumer Electronics Association-sponsored show typically hosts previews of products and new product announcements."

And for those of you who really know Austin, you know how much of a technology geek he is.

So of course he was ecstatic to go and see all the new products coming out in 2011 from all of the major companies on the market right now.

Thank you, Ken, for inviting him!

Austin even got to meet his favorite podcast broadcaster ever!!! The Tech Guy.

While the boys were off playing with new gadgets, we girls were having some fun of our own.

Can you guess what we did?

SHOP.

We went to a few malls and then headed just to the M&M Factory and Coca-Cola Factory.

 [Ryker wasn't has as happy to see the colorful M&Ms as I was.]

The boys were planning on spending two whole days at the convention [Friday and Saturday].

Unfortunately, Austin came down with strep throat on Friday.

Do you think this stopped him from attending the convention on Saturday...?

No.

But he did come home exhausted on Saturday and even skipped out on a buffet.

This means he really is sick!

In the midst of the madness, we ate at the ever-so-delicious, Raising Cane's.

We also had the opportunity to visit my mom's sister and her family in Henderson!

We were so glad that we were able to see them!
Unfortunately, we have no pictures from the visit... We were going to go back and spend more time with them on Saturday night, but were unable to due to Austin's strep throat. :[

On our way home, we drove through the Hoover Dam and saw this beauty...

Well, there we have it! Here is the whole gang right before departing for Mesa, AZ.
Return: Sunday, January 9th at 4:30 pm.

This trip was a dream-come-true for Austin [except for the strep throat part].
I am so happy that he was able to see, in-person, what he is so very passionate about!
